Deliveries Power/Sail

Transports / Deliveries on the US East Coast, Bahamas, Caribbean and Atlantic basin.

Many of our clients like assistance across the Gulfstream or vessel delivery to a desired cruising area. The vessel arrives safely, we step off, our clients use their time to cruise their preferred waters and then we return to collect the vessel to bring it home or to its next destination. A very handy option for those with busy schedules or those who want to use the first leg of the trip to reacquaint themselves with their vessel.

Our Team

Hamish grew up in the sailing world in England and departed for the Caribbean racing season at 17, never going back. His experience includes both power and sail, up to 132’, on both sides of the Atlantic basin, from race boats with their motor yacht mother ships and toys, to luxury cruisers. Hamish has been guest tactician and navigator in several Superyacht regattas. He has managed extensive refits and has a vast knowledge of engineering, rigging and boat building. He is a licensed marine surveyor, insurance broker and holds a MCA 100 Ton License.
Eli’s upbringing on sailboats and houseboats cemented his passion for yachting. He holds a 100 Ton Master Captain’s License with sail endorsement. Over the past ten years, he has owned, operated and captained numerous vessels ranging from 12 feet to 90 feet, along the Eastern Seaboard and the Bahamas. Eli is knowledgeable in all aspects of boat maintenance from the aesthetic to the machine side. His pleasant smile makes him an easy addition to any delivery crew, or to assist and teach beginner or short handed operators in the Palm Beach area.
Phil carries over 50 years of experience in the marine industry, both ashore and afloat. He holds a 100 Ton Coast Guard License for both power and sail. He began his career as a sailboat captain, running yachts along the Eastern Seaboard and the Bahamas. He is widely known as the beloved manager of Cracker Boy Boat Works, where he reigned for over 40 years. Proficient at operating heavy machinery on and off the water including cranes, tugs, barges and travel lifts to name a few, he is also vastly knowledgeable in all types of yacht projects, both power and sail, including delivery, preparation and execution. His knowledge extends to marine construction, including docks and pilings. Phil is well travelled and witty, making him a great addition to any race or delivery crew, sure to tell some memorable jokes and stories or even teach some celestial navigation. He can also help navigate local waters in the Palm Beach area and give a helping hand to solo or novice boat operators. In his spare time he recently captained a 92 ft racing and day sailing Nelson Marek.
Erik started commercial fishing at age 7 part time, fulltime at age 11. He earned his 100-ton license at age 18. At age 22 he took a winter off from fishing to work as a carpenter at Cable Marine in Fort Lauderdale where he was introduced to yachting. By the next season, he left commercial fishing and started working as first mate on yachts, doing several Atlantic crossings, numerous winters in the Caribbean, Bahamas, New England, Great Lakes, and the Mediterranean. By 198, Erik upgraded his license to a 1600 ton and started working as captain. After a couple of shorter term jobs, he captained the yachts "Madcap" for 24 years, for the Henry Hillman family until Mr Hillman's death and the sale of the yacht in 2018. He cruised Florida and the Bahamas, with 3 vessels during that time- 88 ft Palmer Johnson, 100ft Palmer Johnson and 114ft Newcastle. Semi-retired, Erik is willing to help on deliveries as captain or crew, as a short term fill in, or to help oversee refits.

FAQ

Why should I have Passion Yachting manage my yacht?

There are many reasons. Firstly,  to take the “dirty” side of owning a yacht out of your hands- the wash downs, strainer services, bilge cleaning. We provide a turn key operation of your vessel with no need for you to pay constant attention to detail. Our planned maintenance schedule prolongs the smooth operation of your boat. And in the case of absentee owners, we satisfy your insurance company’s requirements for someone to be close to your vessel.

Deliveries. What to expect?

Expert inspection of the safety equipment and the inventory of spare parts needed onboard. Confirmation that any required documentation and insurance is in order. With a passage plan in place and the correct weather window, we will prepare and move your vessel. When things do come up- break downs and changes in weather, we will manage the hurdles, and maintain informative communication with you.

What do we do?

We take the hassle out of yacht ownership and preserve value by keeping up on maintenance.

Can we help with hurricanes?

We can create hurricane plans and move your vessel out of harms way when needed. Please call for details and plan ahead, as there can be limited availability at the peak of the season.

Do you provide any warranties?

Passion Yachting is licensed and insured. We can help to oversee manufacturer warranties.
